2743+60 thoughts] Fiebig (ed. 1857): “My thoughts is the vocative, and be the imperative, according to Shakespeare’s usual vividness of diction. Compare the end of the King’s soliloquy, p. 131.”

2743+60 MacDonald (ed. 1885): “If, with this speech in his mouth, Hamlet goes coolly on board the vessel, not being compelled thereto and possessing means to his vengeance, as here he says, and goes merely in order to hoist Rosincrance, and Guildensterne with their own petard—that is, if we must keep the omitted passages, then the author exposes his hero to a more depreciatory judgment than any form which I would justify him, and a conception of his character entirely inconsistent with the rest of the play. He did not observe the risk at the time he write the passage, but discovering it afterwards, rectified the oversight to the dissatisfaction of his critics, who have agreed in restoring what he cancelled.”

2743+60 Travers (ed. 1929): “Let all my thoughts be of blood, or they will be worthless.—In Act 5, however, Hamlet will express no such thoughts before sc. 2 (which itself will comprise the interlude with Osric and end in ‘revenge,’ at last, through no planning of his).”
