1667 heere about the Court] Elze (ed. 1882): “Compare § 223: here is newly come to Court Laertes. Marlowe, Edward II, I, 1 (Works, in 1 vol., p. 183b): We will wait here about the court. The Birth of Merlin, I, 1 (ed. Delius, p. 5): there’s here arriv’d at court. From these passages it may be gathered, that here has been wrongly omitted in FA, merely in order to give the metre a greater regularity, as regularity was understood by the editors of FA. According to the reading of QB the two words they either coalesce or are rapidly pronounced together; see Dr Abbott, Sh. Gr., § 462.”
