BWK; RANN in the parallel as usual identifies the speaker. The italics for the 1st 3 words indicate that the idea came from elsewhere, I believe, so in a slight way, a CAP way, RANN does indicate his debts.
BWK: Pye adds another instance of “proper quantity.” This information possibly should be added to the commentary narrative, above. placed note in check editions doc. for date of Akenside. If this is Mark Akenside and his date is 1745, Pye’s comment hardly seemed germaine to the 16th and early 17th century.
