If S. is responsible for the dumb-show, we may consider it a piece of carelessness like making Philostrate in MND speak of shedding ‘merry tears’ at the rehearsal of the clowns’ play when he certainly could not have been present at the rehearsal—to say nothing of the fact that the play as rehearsed in [3.1.
